Woodmoor Beer Appreciation Society Pale Ale Tasting Round 2

Woodmoor Beer Appreciation Society

Pale Ale Tasting II

We held Round 2 of the Pale Ale Tasting on 3 March 2000. The general consensus was that the second group (with the possible exception of Butterfield's Mt. Whitney Pale Ale) was not as good as the first group. More entries fell into the average or unremarkable category. Scores also had a wider range than the first round. The clear winner was Butterfield's Mt Whitney Pale Ale (Butterfield Brewery, Fresno, CA), second place to Golden Gate Original Ale and third to Portland Pale Ale. Although its overall score did not place it in the top 3, Left Hand Brewery (CO) Sawtooth Pale ale was rated #1 by both Tom and Bill. Highest scores are listed in RED
